Lighthouse Church Statement of Faith

We believe that God is sovereign. The pre-existent almighty creator of heaven and earth.

(Gen 1:1, II Sam 7:22, Isa 46:10)

We believe in the Holy Trinity. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. One Deity, in three persons.

(Jn 1:1, 1 Peter 1:2, Matt 28:19)

We believe in the inerrancy of the Bible. It is the Holy Scripture, the true Word of God. Written by men inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is the living word and it is infallible.

(II Tim 3:16-17, II Peter 1:19-21)

We believe that man is sinful, and in need of Redemption and Salvation. Man, without Salvation will be subject to everlasting judgment and condemnation.

We believe that Salvation from the judgement from sin, is only possible through Jesus Christ.

(Rom 3:24, Rom 5:1, Rom 5:8 Jn 14:6)

We believe that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God. He was born of a Virgin, as Mary was overshadowed by the Spirit of God.

We believe that Jesus came to seek and save the lost; and through His death on the cross he made a way for all who believe to receive Salvation from condemnation.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the living head of the church. Pastors and Elders are under-shepherds subject to the rule and authority of Christ.

We believe that man is indwelled with the Holy Spirit, after hearing the message of salvation and believing the message. By yielding to the leading of the Holy Spirit man will be able to walk God’s plan and operate in the gifts enabled to him by the Spirit of God.

We believe in water baptism by immersion. Baptism is an outward confession of an inward work of God in which a believer identifies with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

We believe that God created all men and women in His image and with purpose.

(Gen 1:26-27, Eph 2:10)

We believe in the biblical institution of marriage between a man and a woman.

(Rom 7:2, Gen 2:24, Eph 5:25-28)

We believe God is a masterful creator with a divine design for all things and all people. Those who accept to live within God’s design for Marriage, sex, and gender; experience the blessing of God’s design. Decisions to altar God’s design stem from man’s brokenness and sin nature. These decisions lead to despair and spiritual death.

We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life.
